There are Four Wards in the Town of Harrison.

Within the Wards there are Districts.

Wards 1, 2, 3 & 4 have 3 Districts each.

Your Sample Ballot or a Lookup on the Superintendent of Elections website will tell you where you can cast your vote.  Some voting locations have two or more Districts from the same Ward in that voting location.  Just bring your sample ballot and/or a paper with the Ward and District on it so you can ask where that District is located in the Voting Location (Building) so you can direct yourself to the correct area.  One way people get frustrated on Election Day is when they go to the wrong location or wrong District within a Voting Location and their name does not appear in Voting Book.

How To Vote

Electronic Registered Voter Lookup Tablet and Signature Pad (on the left). The screen flips for the Voters signature once the Hudson County Poll worker locates the voter on the tablet.

Once you arrive at the Polling Location and are ready to cast your vote.  You must check in with the Poll Workers who make sure that only registered voters cast a vote.  There are now electronic tablets to facilitate looking you up and directing you to the correct voting location and voting machine. If you wish you can bring your New Jersey Driver’s license and that can be scanned to speed up looking you up on the Electronic Registered Voter Look up Tablet. You can also simply give your first and last name to be looked up.    Once they locate your name, they will ask you to sign your name on the electronic tablet (you should use a stylus provided). The Hudson County Board of Elections worker may also ask you to sign a numbered voting slip and once you have signed that they will give you the numbered voting slip which is your admittance to the voting booth.  Remember your Vote is private and nobody should go into a voting booth with you.

Here is a video on how to vote which covers voting in New Jersey.  The process and the voting machines are the same in Harrison. Anselmo Millan is the only candidate on Column H which is the farthest Right Column. Locate Anselmo Millan’s name and press the button labeled 4H. The Green Light should be on next to Anselmo Millan’s name. Then Press the Red Vote Button at the bottom right of the voting machine to cast your Vote.

If you are unsure on how to vote, the poll worker should educate you without pushing any buttons on the machine.  It is supposed to be done outside the voting booth but if the poll worker pushing any buttons you should advise them that you want the machine reset to allow you to vote in private.  There have been occasions where poll workers show a new voter how to vote and end up Voting for them.
